Be part of our team. CHKD is seeking an experienced and professional hospital Credentialing Specialist (I or II) to facilitate credentialing and privileging. This role is with the Professional Staff Services department at the Main Hospital in Norfolk, VA and maintains a typical schedule of full time, week days.

In Professional Staff Services, we often say “Patient Safety Starts with Me!”  We take pride in the primary source verification and analysis work that we do.  We provide support services in credentialing, privileging, and medical staff management, including professionalism and health, and our team includes a nurse manager who is responsible for peer review and ongoing evaluation of provider competency data.  This team of four (Director, Quality Manager, and 2 Credentialing Specialists) ensures a full complement of hospital-setting MSPs.

An ideal candidate will possess:

• High school diploma or equivalent required. College degree preferred.
• At least 3 years previous hospital credentialing experience preferred.
• Proficiency in credentialing software required, MD-Staff preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products required
• Working knowledge of DNV and CMS accreditation standards related to credentialing required.
• CPCS and/or CPMSM certification by the National Association Medical Staff Services (NAMSS) preferred.
