In this critical leadership role at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, the Director Medical Staff oversees Medical Staff services, including Physician Relations and credentialing. The Director Medical Staff:

• supervises the Medical Staff Office.
• works in close collaboration with medical staff leadership.
• assists the medical staff leadership in expeditious follow-up of committee action and policy changes, appointments of staff to medical committees, and annual planning of medical staff activities.
• establishes effective relationships with staff, peers, administration, medical staff and Board of Trustees.
• coordinates medical staff activities and serves as liaison between the medical staff and hospital leadership.
• assists in making recommendations and decisions for long range strategic planning.
• oversees the medical staff application and reapplication credentialing process and mid-level providers credentialing process.
• assists with Physician On-Boarding and Orientation process.
• manages Focused Professional Practice Evaluations and Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation process to assure compliance with Joint Commission.
• works with Medical Staff Treasurer to establish a budget for Medical Staff funds
• prepares for and attends medical staff committees meetings, maintaining meeting minutes and other documentation.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience managing a Medical Staff Office 
• Proven ability to build collaborative partnerships and working relationships across the organization
• Thoroughly conversant with general Medical Staff Bylaws/ Rules and Regulations and with all Joint Commission standards pertinent to functions of the Medical Staff 
• Certified Professional Medical Staff Services Manager (CPMSM) and/or Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) required
• 4 year/Bachelor's Degree required
• Completes and maintains all competencies and trainings as required for role
