Position Summary: The Emergency Services Technician is a member of the health care team. Assists a health care practitioner with patient care, executes administrative and clinical procedures, and performs duties under the supervision of a health care practitioner or Registered Nurse, to provide quality care that is focused on the comfort and well being of the patient and family. This position requires a service-oriented individual with strong interpersonal skills for the purpose of delivering care and services to patients from diverse ethnic and social groups. Independent decision-making is expected in the execution of daily routine duties. Performs duties delegated by, and under the supervision of, a health care practitioner. The Charge Nurse/Unit Supervisor provides specific daily instruction. Independent decision-making is expected in the execution of routine duties. Decisions regarding patient care or services require the review and approval of the Registered Nurse. This position is expected to be self motivating in the execution of daily routine duties.
Minimum Requirements: Tacoma General / Allenmore Hospital / Good Samaritan Hospital / Auburn Medical Center / Covington Hospital/ Capital Medical Center Current Washington state certification/licensure as a CNA or NA-R, or successful completion of EMT Training Course (EMT will be required to obtain NA-R within 90 days of hire) Current Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist Certification or Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist eligible (Must complete education within 60 days and apply within 7 days of education completion) Previous experience as a CNA, NA-R, corpsman, EMT, or phlebotomist in an emergency department, pre-hospital, or acute care setting within the last three years preferred Specific to Covington - MA-C (No additional licensure will be required) Mary Bridge Children�s Hospital Current Washington state certification/licensure as a CNA or NA-R, or successful completion of EMT Training Course (EMT will be required to obtain NA-R within 90 days of hire) Medical Assistant-Registered Certification (must apply within 7 days of hire) Must obtain Medical Assistant-Registered Certification within 60 days MA-P credential may be accepted in lieu of MA-R, per department requirements Previous experience as a CNA, NA-R, corpsman, or EMT, in an emergency department, pre-hospital, or acute care setting within the last three years Current CPR Certification
