As the dyad partner to the Chair of Psychiatry, the Director of Inpatient Psychiatry Program communicates effectively and builds trusting collaborative relationships with all stakeholders to achieve organizational goals and strategic plans. The Director utilizes current concepts in clinical practice, delivery models, healthcare economics, policy, evidence-based practice, quality improvement, patient safety and risk management to promote outcomes-based care and demonstrates financial, human resource, strategic, and information management proficiency. The selected candidate exemplifies professionalism through personal and professional accountability and ethics, promoting evidence-based practice, advocacy, and professional commitment directing a strategic system-wide approach to Behavioral Health patient care and promotes the Division of Behavioral Health and its plans for performance improvement, patient safety, and high reliability. Directs all planning, implementation, and evaluation of the Inpatient Behavioral Health\Screening Crisis service line and ensures the sustainability for Magnet Recognition through the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
Provides primary operational management and leadership for the Behavioral Health inpatient and crisis services. Participates in the development and implementation of network-wide policies, practices and standards for Behavioral Health to ensure compliance.
Manages effectively and resolves conflicts impeding working relationships and progress toward defined goals. Formulates objectives, goals, and specific strategies that support the organization mission and vision. Engages and supports a Just Culture environment.
Collaborates with physicians (Dyad partner and CMO) to develop patient care protocols, policies and procedures. Designs, develops, and implements a strategic plan that focuses on clinical excellence, financial performance, and business development in collaboration with Dyad Partner and manages Behavioral Health Services towards these goals. This includes effective measures that raise community awareness of services offered by the programs.

Envisions and develops new care delivery models when necessary. Utilizes research findings for the establishment of standards, practices and patient care models in the service. Possesses competency in healthcare operations. Knowledge of regulatory bodies, NJDOH, CMS, NHSN, Laws pertaining to Behavioral Health Practices, STCF regulations, HBIPS requirements, and ANCC Magnet Recognition Program. Ability to learn and navigate various internal and external systems applications and databases.
Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Proficiency in defining problems, data collection, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions. Must have excellent project management skills. Ability to interpret an extensive amount of technical instructions, mathematical displays of statistical values. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to simultaneously and effectively manage multiple projects of high importance to Capital Health and respond quickly in fast-paced environment. Develops positive relationships at all levels of organization to facilitate achievement of institutional and departmental goals and objectives.
