Summary: To perform or assist with Cardiopulmonary Diagnostic procedures. Occasionally requires major decisions when confronted with potentially life threatening arrhythmia. May need to prioritize workload. To perform Oxygen rounds, oxygen cylinder transports, gauge changes, pulse oximetry spot checks with the direction of a Respiratory Therapist or Technician, maintain respiratory stock on floors, assemble and disassemble equipment for sterilization or disinfection. Engages in mostly routine repetitive procedures.

Responsibilities:
Proficient in EKG. Obtains EKGs of high quality, free of base-line drift, muscle tremor, A-C interface artifact, being well alert of poor quality tracings and knowing when to abort unacceptable tracings. Works effectively and efficiently as a CPT Conscious of biohazard safety as it relates to the job; Use of the pneumatic tube system, manual delivery of specimens to main lab, disposal of blood collection equipment Knows the proper method for cleaning, disinfecting and sterilizing all equipment used to provide respiratory care. Responsible for gathering data and entering EKG charges appropriately. Routinely offers to help other team members. Works as a team member by illuminating a positive attitude, cooperation, and communicate well with co-workers, patients and other members of the health care team. Maintains Par levels of supplies in storage areas and nursing units.
