The role you’ll contribute:
The Middle Revenue Cycle and System Subject Matter Expert ("SME") Analyst supports the operations of the Process Improvement and Business Support team by acting as an intermediary between Revenue Cycle teams and support teams to help translate Revenue Cycle operational needs to technical requirements and evaluate feasibility of technology projects for all AdventHealth acute operations. The Middle Revenue Cycle and System SMEs Analyst acts as a subject matter expert of Middle Revenue Cycle Systems utilized by the HIM and Coding, Revenue Integrity, and Utilization Management departments, and requires a comprehensive understanding of clinical operational workflows as well as specific technology capabilities. This role involves extensive collaboration with other Process Improvement and Business Support functional areas, including but not limited to Analytics, Automation, Vendor Management, and Project Management teams. The Middle Revenue Cycle and System SMEs Analyst will adhere to AdventHealth Corporate Compliance standards, as well as rules and regulations of all applicable local, state, and federal agencies and accrediting bodies.

- Collaborates with teams in the Middle Revenue Cycle functional areas which include HIM, Coding, Revenue Integrity, and Utilization Management, to help translate Revenue Cycle operational and business requirements to system technical requirements
- Provides ongoing SME support to guide complex technology initiatives for software applications utilized by Middle Revenue Cycle departments and recommends the best usage of systems and technologies to accomplish operational goals and drive process efficiencies
- Assists with implementation and testing of Middle Revenue Cycle applications by ensuring automations, dashboards, and other applications continue to provide accurate and usable data and effectiveness
- Identifies opportunities and provides actionable recommendations for process improvement as pertains to Middle Revenue Cycle business systems and applications and their ongoing usage throughout the Middle Revenue Cycle; relays findings and recommended action plan with the Revenue Cycle and System SMEs leadership
- Conducts or leads periodic system issue reviews and manages collaboration with IT to implement changes needed to resolve issues
- Collaborates with the Project Management team to provide technical SME support during the design and execution of strategic Revenue Cycle initiatives which involve Middle Revenue Cycle technology solutions
- Supports the Automation team in the development of business cases to quantify automation opportunities by time saved and financial or strategic impact; keeps an ongoing roster of use cases and works with Revenue Cycle and executive leadership to prioritize Automation development
- Supports automation team by developing the Process Design Documents (PDD) for prioritized initiatives
- Serves as a SME to the Vendor Management team for all third-party applications assessment, integration, and workflow management used in the Middle Revenue Cycle
- Liaises with Middle Revenue Cycle teams and the Analytics team, providing detailed technical specifications for actionable data, metrics, and dashboards; documents/ communicates nuances in specifications, highlighting operational impact
- Participates in relevant ongoing Middle Revenue Cycle and software trainings to keep up to date on functional area workflows and technology capabilities; ensures that current trends and leading practices are being incorporated across all AdventHealth Revenue Cycle systems and applications
- Collaborates with the Education and Quality Audit teams to assess trends and performs root cause analysis on key pain points. Recommends process and technology enhancements to drive process and financial performance
QualificationsMinimum qualifications:
- Three (3) years' experience in healthcare revenue cycle with a focus in one or more of the following areas: coding, charge integrity, charge reconciliation, charge compliance, charge auditing, CDM compliance, and Hospital Billing
OR
- Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare, or related field with one (1) year working experience in healthcare revenue cycle with a focus in one or more of the following areas: coding, charge integrity, charge reconciliation, charge compliance, charge auditing, CDM compliance, and Hospital Billing
Preferred qualifications:
- Associate's Degree in Nursing
- Experience documenting workflow design and/or creating technical specifications
- Experience managing projects and/or Six Sigma Lean Training
- Experience coordinating Revenue Cycle system updates and/or system implementation
- Preferred licensure includes coding credentials (e.g. COC, CPC, CCS, RHIT, RHIA, etc.)
- Current registration, licensure, or certification with Florida State Board of Nursing or Florida State Dept of Health and
- Human Services (or other accrediting entity, based on clinical field) or Current valid State of Florida or multi state license as a Registered Nurse
