International Health Financial Coordinator Northwestern Memorial Hospital Chicago, Illinois Full-Time Days
The customer service professional we select for this role will provide daily patient billing consultations in person and by phone, explain payment amounts, collect payments, track patient responsibility and facilitate additional collections if the payment plan varies from the anticipated treatment plan. Additional responsibilities will include:
Working closely with the international patient coordinators and senior leadership to deliver expedient, positive outcomes on complex billing issues.
Communicating regularly with diverse stakeholders throughout the facility.
Resolving patient payment disputes and escalating issues to senior leadership.
Coordinating with embassy financial teams to ensure prompt payment of all invoices.
Processing all invoices from various department accounts, private physicians, and other vendors, and billing to patients.
Tracking outstanding accounts receivable by patient and payor type, as well as following up with patients to ensure timely payment.
Coordinating with clinical teams, patients, and payors to create estimates based on anticipated treatment plan.
Communicating treatment plan to patient and facilitating in-person and phone payment collections.
Auditing all international patient billing, documenting payment in the practice management system, and submitting to Accounts Payable.
Processing monthly reconciliation reports for NMH, NMG, revenue accounting, and other internal stakeholders.

Strong customer service skills and extensive experience in the area of diffusing/resolving problems/issues
Excellent time-management, multitasking, and prioritization skills
Ability to and enthusiasm for collaborating with team members and external partners to enhance the patient experience
Advanced organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple activities and deliver quality service
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel and Access), Epic, and Peoplesoft
