The Credentialing Coordinator performs duties in support of the hospital mission to ensure the highest quality of patient care in an economically sound and efficient manner.

Analyzes and evaluates primary source verification data and documents for initial appointment and reappointment to the Medical and Allied Health staff according to hospital and outside regulatory standards. Process applications in a timely fashion. Maintains credentials files in an orderly fashion. Maintains open communication with applicants.

Maintains current status for licensure, DEA registration, certifications, and professional liability insurance by tracking expirables on a concurrent basis.  Collects and tracks health documents, training certificates and educational modules as required. 

Prepares agendas for credentials meetings, medical executive meetings, general medical staff meeting and other medical staff meetings as requested.

Maintains data quality and integrity for web-based applications based according to defined standards. Responds to data requests/roster/reports as requested. Assists medical staff leadership & marketing with medical staff mailings.

Maintain billing/invoices for medical staff verifications. Assists in the collection of medical staff appointment fees and yearly dues.

Assists Department Chairs/Division Chief in the tracking of FPPE for all new privileges as well as Situational FPPEs.

Assists and manages providing credential files and documentation for all site visits by regulatory bodies.

Requirements:

Associates Degree, Bachelor’s Degree or appropriate experience

3 years of experience in a similar role.

Current NAMSS CPCS certification preferred.

Echo Credentialing Software or similar database credentialing software

Skill in establishing priorities with independent coordination of day to day aspects. Superior computer skills (Microsoft applications)
