 Kootenai Health is seeking a detail oriented, quality driven, and highly motivated Credentialing Specialist. This position will be on-site at our main hospital campus in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. About the Job The Credentialing Specialist is responsible for all aspects of the credentialing, re-credentialing and privileging processes for all medical providers who provide patient care at Kootenai Health. Responsible for ensuring providers are credentialed, appointed, and privileged with health plans, hospitals and patient care facilities. Maintain up-to-date data for each provider in credentialing databases and online systems; ensure timely renewal of licenses and certifications. Works under general supervision. Performs other related duties as assigned. Compentent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned. Essential Duties - Performs the credentialing processes for all initial applications and reappointments
- Collects and verifies sensitive provider data through confidential sources and maintains a credentialing database
- Prepares files for presentation to the department chairman, credentials committee, executive committee and hospital board
- Performs analysis and appropriate follow-up of each initial application and reappointment
- Works with many individuals to acquire necessary materials and information, including, but not limited to: physicians, facility staff, professional staff and physician office staff
- Performs relevant data entry into the database to ensure consistency and integrity of the data
- Processes appropriate queries for expired licensure, or any appropriate regulatory credentialing requirement and maintains documentation in the database
- Attends medical staff meeting, including agenda management and information distribution
- Communicate with patients, physicians, families and co-workers in person and on telephone
- Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job under general supervision
