The External Credentialing Specialist is responsible for the completion of all hospital applications for all contracted TeleSpecialists External Credentialing Specialist. The External Credentialing Specialist ensures all physician information is complete and accurate and all appropriate documents are maintained and current within MD Staff. The External Credentialing Specialist also ensures that the management team is made aware of any potential issues with all inventory and processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Works with both Medical Staff Office and the physician to ensure all necessary items are secured, so the provider can be presented to the facilities’ committee and board.
Assist with the on-boarding process (internally/externally) to include: Obtaining hospital privileges within the appropriate timeframe- MSO & Physician Correspondence Team
Ensure departmental guidelines are followed to support all contracted hospital privileges and procedures
Identify potential delays with hospitals processing physician applications and escalate according to the External Credentialing policy.
Generate a M&P inventory report, daily, to determine which providers require follow-up, according to the External Credentialing policy.
Assist in the external credentialing process by entering/logging/scanning information into credentialing system for initial, updated, and maintenance processes
Track the credentialing application process in order to promote compliance, process enhancement, and efficiency
Submits copies of current state licenses, DEA certificates, malpractice coverage and any other required credentialing documents for all physicians to TeleSpecialists contracted hospitals
Follows up on any missing information needed to complete the credentialing process
Updates MDStaff with any status changes and updates during the hospital credentialing process
Makes leadership aware of any potential derogatory issues identified during the credentialing process and works in collaboration with practitioner to document/resolve the issue

MD Staff Experience preferred
Experience with Credentialing Accreditation by Joint Commission or National Committee for Quality Assurance preferred
