The Medical Staff Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of Medical Staff activities including, but not limited to, credentialing and privileging.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leads, coordinates, and monitors the review and analysis of provider’s initial appointment and reappointment applications and accompanying documents as well as day-to-day monitoring for all medical staff.
Ensures compliance with regulatory bodies, Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, policies and procedures, and delegated contracts.
Conducts thorough background investigation, research and primary source verification of all components of the credentials file.
Identifies issues that require additional investigation and evaluation, validates discrepancies, and ensures appropriate follow up.
Prepares credentials files for presentation to the LHC Credentials/Medical Executive Committee.
Supports Medical Staff by managing correspondence and notifications as well as agendas and minutes for assigned meetings.
Assists Medical Staff with state license and DEA renewals as needed.
Responds to credentialing inquiries from other healthcare organizations.
Assists with and monitors revisions of Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, policies, etc.
Creates, maintains, and revises Medical Staff privileges documents as required.
Works closely with Chief Medical Officer, Risk Management, and Management to ensure appropriate peer review, quality files, and focused and/or ongoing professional practice evaluations.
Works closely with designated staff for provider enrollment assistance.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as required.

High school diploma or equivalent (GED) with at least one to three years of experience directly related to medical staff credentialing.
NAMSS Certification as a Certified Professional Medical Services Manager (CPMSM) or Certified Provider Credentials Specialist (CPCS) or actively pursuing certification and will become certified within one (1) year from the date of hire.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
