Office Manager, Medical Staff Services
Cayuga Medical Center
Reports to the Director of Medical Staff and Medical Education. Working relationship with MPMA, Hospital President and Medical Staff Officers. Coordinates medical staff office activities in consultation with Vice President of Medial Affairs, Medical Center President and Medical Staff leadership. This includes responsibility for maintenance of bylaws, medical staff credentialing processes, medical staff meeting minutes and agendas and any other issue related to the function of the medical staff. Assists in accreditation activities for medical residency program and CME program. Maintains content expertise on all laws and regulations (NYSDOH, The Joint Commission, CMS) regarding medical staff bylaws, credentialing and other issues pertinent to the medical staff. Supervises medical office staff including credentials staff and administrative assistant. Applies general understanding and specific procedures and polities through independent judgment.
Bachelor's Degree required, combined with at least 5 years of medical staff office experience (at least three of which involve office supervision), strong oral and written communication skills, knowledge of PC and mainframe computer systems including experience with credentialing software programs. CPCS or CPMSM certification required or must be obtained with one year of hire. Knowledge and understanding of medical staff organizations, regulatory requirements for medical staff, medical staff bylaws, credentialing, CME accreditation, residency accreditation, NYSDOH regulations and The Joint Commission regulations.
