The Senior Credentialing Specialist is responsible for coordinating the effort to analyze, evaluate primary source verification for initial appointments and reappointment's to Medical and Allied staff according to hospital and outside regulatory standards such as Joint Commission, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid as a function of the hospital’s risk management program for both hospital and delegated credentialing and hospital privileges. Provide support to facilities, groups and providers who are booked for a locumtenens job. Types and assembles letters, memos, and reports. Answers questions and resolves issues concerning providers’ credentials. Prepares documents as needed. Assembles and maintains statistical data. Performs and coordinates specific projects and programs as assigned.
Certified Professional Medical Services (CPMSM) Or Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) strongly preferred
Three years experience working in Credentialing role
Hospital Privileging experience preferred
Knowledge of related computer applications and database experience
Experience with understanding of medical staff organizational structure and hospital operations
Extensive knowledge of corporate compliance (HIPAA, Stark, Joint Commission, CMS)
Skill in establishing priorities with independent coordination of day-to-day aspects
Superior organizational skills
Strong professional and communication skills (oral and written)
Ability to work in fast-paced environment
