The Medical Staff Coordinator oversees the Medical Staff credentialing process in accordance with Bylaws, Rules and Regulations and regulatory standards. Coordinates the appointment and reappointment process ensuring accurate processing of applications and reappointments. Updates/maintains Medical Staff policies and ensures practitioner compliance.
What You'll Do:
Support a Medical Staff of approximately 100 providers.
Schedule and organize all Medical Staff standing, ad hoc and special meetings.
Meeting agenda preparation/follow-ups, minutes, and packets are prepared and communicated in a timely manner.
Medical Staff Databases/tracking/collecting: Knowledgeable with the medical staff and hospital database systems used to maintain and track medical staff information.
Maintains and updates medical staff credentialing and hospital privilege data bases.
Tracks and collects Medical Staff licenses, DEA, Professional liability.
Performs credentialing functions.
Maintains the confidential credential file of each new applicant; reviews for completeness and notifies physician/practitioners of missing information.
Utilizes ECHO for credentialing to obtain verification and committee review prior to expiration.
Coordinates all new physician orientation.

High School diploma required, Bachelor's degree preferred.
Minimum three years of experience in Healthcare Administration, Medical Staff, or Human Resources required.
Has current knowledge of medical staff bylaws, rules and regulations, Title 22, policies and procedures and responds to questions regarding those items and assists in the ongoing revision of such.
Obtain a Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) certification within two years of employment.
