The Southeast Louisiana Veterans Healthcare System (SLVHCS) and our affiliate, Tulane University School of Medicine are recruiting a section chief for Pulmonary/ Critical Care medicine for New Orleans, Louisiana. Qualifications include strong leadership, administrative and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to provide patient care, supervising providers and staff in the section, assigning work responsibilities, determining direction of section in concert with medicine service leadership, and coordinating expansion of services for the activation of our new replacement medical center. Expertise and board certification in pulmonary/critical care medicine and invasive procedures is required. Candidates must have academic credentials to be qualified for a faculty appointment (assistant or associate professor). Academic rank is determined by our affiliate, Tulane University School of Medicine. Salary depends on qualifications and levels of experience. Basic Requirements :
Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine
Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
Preferred Experience: Expertise and board certification in pulmonary/critical care medicine and invasive procedures is required. Candidates must have academic credentials to be qualified for a faculty appointment (assistant or associate professor).
