Chief Medical Officer (CMO)
The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) is responsible for the management and oversight of preventive, diagnostic treatment, referral care and quality rendered by FFHC. The CMO provides direct patient care as well as makes clinical-related administrative decisions on behalf of the Center. The CMO works cooperatively and effectively with the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Leadership Team to ensure overall health care delivery meets Patient Centered Medical Home standards, Joint Commission Standards, HRSA standards, Meaningful Use and other measurements of quality care, patient safety and patient satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide routine primary and preventative care, chronic disease management, and patient education within scope of licensed specialty.
Complete all meaningful use measures as defined by CMS and other governing bodies.
Ensure clinical staff comply with NCQA and Joint Commission patient care standards as well as clinical components of HRSA Program Requirements.
Respond to after-hours patient calls (on rotation schedule) – but no hospital coverage.
Utilize electronic health record as the primary source of documentation and coding.
Conduct of the Quality Management, Risk Management, Peer Review and PCMH activities.
Prepare clinical performance reports for CEO and other key staff.
Prepare and recommend qualification statements for credentialing job descriptions and evaluation standards for all clinical personnel.
Recruit clinical staff, interview potential clinical staff, and prepare recommendations for hiring and terminations for CEO review and approval.
Serve as a primary rater (or reviewing officer where additional levels of supervision exist) for all clinical personnel evaluations.
Develop, review, revise clinical protocols.
Coordinate and assure appropriate continuing education, orientation and in-service training for all members of the health care team.
Advocate for the health center and serves as liaison to (including active membership in) local and state professional societies, as well as to health officials, organizations, health training institutions, as appropriate.
MD or DO with Board Certification, along with significant management training.
Must be able to maintain board certification.
Successful completion of an ACGME or AOA accredited residency in a primary care specialty.
Must have at least seven (7) years of practice experience along with five (5) years of senior management experience in a health care setting is preferred.
Current unrestricted license from the Texas Medical Board to practice as a physician in the State of Texas.
Annual continuing medical education as required by Board specialty and current licensure in the State of Texas.
Must be registered and have current DEA, DPS certificates.
Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for Healthcare Professionals Certification.
